Centered Yoga Dona Holleman School

The Official Centered Yoga School

History

Patrizia Gregori was born in yoga Iyengar in 1991, when she began a close practice with Sandra Bertana and Maura Sorrentino. You attend summer seminars in France with Feaq Biria, a prestigious teacher of the Iyengar method.

In 1994 she continued her training with Gabriella Giubilaro, President of Light on Yoga Italia and stayed with her for eight years. She attends the teacher training course which ends in the Iyengar School, India, with the intermediate level diploma.

Patrizia thus meets the great Guru B.K.S. Iyengar who, however, no longer takes a direct part in teacher training but instead left to her children, Gita and Prashant.

But she does not find the spirit that moved her search for her, she therefore decides to make the journey backwards among the first students of Iyengar to rediscover the original inspiration.

Back in Italy, Patrizia founded the Dhyana Yoga Studio in Rome and began a long journey of in-depth study and personal research.

Meanwhile, she continues to attend courses with prestigious international teachers of the Iyengar School, such as Patricia Walden, John Schumacher and Grazia Melloni who puts her in contact with Angela Farmer and Victor Van Kooten, two teachers who long ago left the Iyengar School for to found one’s own original method. For two years she attended their summer seminars on the island of Lesbos where she rediscovers the enthusiasm and joy of the early days.

She reads the interview book “The Eyes of Innocence” on Dona Holleman and realizes that the meeting with Yogini will be the culmination of her long search. She follows the teacher training course with Dona Holleman and then begins to collaborate with her. Their meeting will give both of them new life in the yogic experience and will be the spark for the birth of Centered Yoga.

As part of their collaboration, Patrizia holds training courses “Beginners Teachers” which end with the final exam by Dona Holleman. She supports and supports her in many initiatives, seminars and workshops in Rome and Milan and is responsible for promoting and publishing Dona’s writings in Italy.

Centered Yoga is presented as a real method.

Ten years later, Dona di lei considers her pupil Patrizia Gregori ready to take her inheritance, she leaves the teaching in her hands and keeps for herself only one advanced class per year.

Patrizia becomes President of the Dona Holleman Association and of the Centered Yoga ASD in 2021.

In 2022 the School of Patrizia, formerly Centered Yoga Studio Dhyana, merges into the Centered Yoga Dona Holleman, the first and only school in the world, dedicated to the great Yogina.

Today the School is a small community, a meeting point and reference point for Centered students and teachers in Italy and abroad, and under the guidance of Patrizia Gregori Teacher Training, seminars and lessons are organized.
