Centered Yoga Dona Holleman ASD started on 17 December 2011 as the International Centered Yoga Association, from the collaboration between Patrizia Gregori and Dona Holleman. Thanks to their closeness, Dona Holleman’s yoga became an out-and-out method to teach to students, and took on the name Centered Yoga.
It all started when Dona Holleman was determined to complete her teacher training and Patrizia Gregori, already an Intermediate Iyengar teacher, realised that such a significant contribution to yoga could not be ignored.
Patrizia therefore started a path of persuasion, to keep Dona Holleman on the road of teaching. She saw to an Italian translation of what would become the fundamental text for Dona’s method, “Centered Yoga: The Eight Vital Principles of the Pratice” (April 2012), and had it printed by the Roman publishing company “Le Mediterranee”.
After a long period of persuasion, in June of the same year, she convinced Dona Holleman to accompany her in a highly successful seminar at the Yoga Festival in Rome.
This key period effectively triggered the association, and Dona Holleman’s yoga became an out-and-out method that was structured and teachable: Centered Yoga.
From Dona Holleman and Patrizia Gregori’s theoretical and practical setup, the association started to grow, bringing in many Italian and foreign teachers who had already been following the teachers for years, aiming to promote, spread and preserve Dona Holleman’s Centered Yoga worldwide, through workshops and training courses.
After almost a decade, Dona Holleman decided to hand presidency of the association over to Patrizia Gregori, tailoring the role of Honorary President for herself. Today, the association plays a fundamental role in training new Centered Yoga teachers and safeguarding the method.
In 2021, Patrizia Gregori suggested reorganising the association, placing still more focus on its objectives in training teachers and spreading the method, keeping strictly to its original premises (regaining traditional yoga).
In its reorganisation, the association changes its name, placing the two pillars of this experience at the centre: the International Centered Yoga Association became Centered Yoga Dona Holleman ASD.
Centered Yoga Dona Holleman ASD is lead by President Patrizia Gregori. Dona Holleman is the Honorary President, meanwhile Francesca Petrilli is the Vice President and Costanza Pratesi is the association’s Secretary. Paolo Campilongo and Stefano Federici are the two Member of Board.
