I began my interest with movement with ballet classes at the age of two. Also, being fasincated with my mother as she practiced different moves with odd breathings (which I later found out was Kundlaini Yoga).
I began practicing yoga while attending art school in Manhattan from 1987-1990; and continued in the mid 90’s with yoga practices in New Orleans and California with many well respected teachers. I practiced and trained while having all three of my children and began teaching in 1998.
A friend gave me the book Centering Down and I was so excited with these Principles and could not wait to study with Dona. After workshops on the west coast in 2003, I began to practice with Dona in Italy each year.
Upon completing a four year teacher certification program in 2011, I am certified nationally and internationally through the International Centered Yoga Association (Level Beginners and Medium Level I) and through the Yoga Alliance.
A degree in Textile Design and a bachelors in Biology/Sociology/Creative writing , and studies toward a MA in alternative healing have guided me in my quest for understanding the Human Spirit. I am keenly interested in the Emotional, Physical, and Mental planes of the Human and how it interrelates to Heart and Spirit. I truly believe each person is wired to heal themselves in their lives and walk the unique path that God has for them.
