I started yoga when it had already become a ‘circus’: too many gurus, too much idealism, too much unclarity. There was still something that took my whole attention. So I left for India to discover
what it was that had awaken my curiosity. That was the year 2000 and I am still on that journey. Now I know that I like the practice to be very clear and honest. I am deeply indebted to and grateful for two great teachers: firstly Auroville and all the people that live there, I have great respect and
love for everyone of them. And secondly Dona Holleman, first through her books and her students,and after in person. I game across with her writings already in India, and I love when she said once:
“When you practice, you don’t practice for an effect. You don’t practice for the onlooker. You don’t practice to get some wonderful enlightenment or whatever. You practice simply and purely because you like practicing. You know, because it feels good, your body feels good. So then it becomes much more simple and it becomes much more honest”.
